Suggestions for Oral Presentations
- The goal of Summit breakout sessions is to stimulate conversation among all attendees and arrive at Best Site Practices
- Come prepared with information to introduce the topic and have questions ready to pose to the audience
- Share the goals and set the ground rules at the beginning of the session:
- Allow for as many voices as possible to share and be heard
- No witching! The conversation should remain solution-focused
- Manage the conversation and questions among the speaker(s) and attendees
- Keep the conversation focused on solutions; steer away from complaining and “witching”
- Share your insights and expertise on the topic
- It is okay & encouraged to interject and realign the conversation to the session topic.
Social Media Sharing
Start a conversation with your colleagues before the conference by sharing information about your session on social media to get them interested in attending. Follow SCRS social media channels and be sure to tag SCRS in your posts!
Download social assets that you can post to your own profiles.
Why Do I Need to Provide this Information?
Your bio and high-resolution photo are used to help market the session and drive attendance. Coupled with the title and description these are the best tools we have to help drive registrations for your event. We use these to update the faculty page for our summits. If you do not have a high-resolution headshot, a photo taken with your phone will work.
Some rooms do not offer AV for our summits which means presentations are allowed only on an approved basis for plenary sessions and workshops only. Many great sessions do not have presentations but are instead discussions, panels, fireside chats, etc. This determination will be made with the conference organizers and should be made clear as it has its own set of requirements.
If you are a plenary or workshop speaker and have been approved to provide a presentation, please see more information below.
Submitting Powerpoint Presentation Content for Approval
We offer contact hour credits for Summit attendees. All content must go through this pre-approval process prior to the session.
This process takes time and passes through many hands before final approval so we can issue the credits attendees seek for their licensure or certifications.
Learning objectives are a critical piece of this review process as they are a requirement from both certifying bodies to have established prior to the live event.
Please share completed presentations and ANCC Planning Tool to firstname.lastname@example.org
Any presentations need to be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the event.
Pre-Session Prep Calls
The Summit Prep call is designed to help all of our speakers understand how the sessions will run, how to utilize the technology, access their session, and run their session.
For both summits and virtual experiences, the Team Prep call is a strong recommendation from SCRS for your sessions speakers and panelists to convene and discuss how their session will flow. It is up to the speakers themselves to arrange this discussion. We suggest the facilitator schedule this prep call and use it to develop talking points prior to the presentation.
Please contact email@example.com with any questions.
